As we say goodbye to 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and share some exciting highlights with you.
This year, I have had the distinct pleasure and privilege of welcoming many new patients to LLOC. The trend towards lingual orthodontics continues to rise as more individuals recognise the advantages of a fully invisible brace that provides effective, efficient, and predictable tooth movement in three dimensions. Recent technological advancements allow us to monitor all our patients remotely, attracting more individuals from distant locations. As always, seeing those already in treatment complete their journey and celebrate their beautiful smiles has been incredibly rewarding.
Thanks to advances in digital technology, we offer innovative treatments that can eliminate the need for extracting healthy teeth to address crowding and, in some cases, even avoid jaw surgery. This is an exciting progression in orthodontics, especially with the benefits of lingual braces, which give our patients more options than ever to achieve their beautiful smiles.
I have been honoured to serve as President of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics for the past two years. Leading the ESLO 2024 Congress in Amsterdam last June was a highlight for me. The event brought together specialists worldwide to discuss how lingual orthodontics can enhance everyday clinical practice and patient care. Meeting friends and colleagues, forming new connections, and learning from each other continue to enrich my work.
Education has been a key focus for me throughout the year. I have had the privilege of mentoring colleagues and speaking at various conferences, sharing insights into lingual orthodontics and digital dentistry. Some memorable moments include speaking engagements in Bulgaria, Germany, Turkey, and at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, where I delved into the future potential of AI in diagnosis, planning, and enhancing patient care.
None of this would have been possible without my incredible team and their unwavering support. I am immensely grateful to Manisha, Renata, Maria, Shahataz, Francesca, and Yana for their dedication to me and to all our patients.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and looking forward to an amazing 2025 together!
