Two important appointments must take place here in order to reach the exciting moment when your treatment journey starts.

Following your consultation, you will come into the clinic for a records appointment. This is when one of the dental team takes digital scans, photographs and X-rays of your teeth.  The digital scans provide a 3D image of your teeth and along with the photographs and X-rays  allow us to complete a thorough assessment of your treatment needs.

When your braces are ready, you will come into the clinic for your brace fitting. For those having fixed braces, this is known as the bond-up appointment. Following this, you  will usually visit the clinic every four to six weeks to have your braces and treatment progress checked.

Aligners

If you have aligners you will have an intermediate appointment when you come into the practice to see a small video of how your teeth will move. You can approve your treatment plan prior to ordering your aligners.

Support for our patients in braces

Once you have your braces fitted, one of our team will discuss how to look after them and how to keep your teeth clean whilst wearing them. We’ll also provide you with an orthodontic kit to take home with you, including wax to help prevent your braces rubbing against your tongue or any soft tissue, some mouthwash to maintain your oral hygiene, and small brushes to help clean in between your teeth and for those in fixed braces, to clean around the brackets.

Progressing through treatment

We like all our patients to see a hygienist while in treatment either at their own dental practice or we can arrange a professional clean here. Your regular appointments with Dr Chatoo provide the opportunity to discuss your treatment progress and expectations, allowing us to make any adjustments needed to help you achieve the desired results.
