  • Invisalign and custom clear aligners

Clear aligners have revolutionised orthodontics, offering a discreet alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign is the original and most well-known system, although there are now many different brands to choose from depending on the patient’s objectives.

Clear aligners are custom-made, transparent dental appliances that fit snugly over your teeth, similar to retainers. They offer a discreet and effective solution for teeth straightening, allowing for aesthetic corrections but not as conspicuousness as traditional braces. We usually recommend Invisalign aligners due to their precision and reliability.

How we use clear aligners in your treatment

We use 3D planning software to show you how your teeth will move throughout treatment and create a fully customised plan. Once you approve the proposed tooth movements, a video of the proposed tooth movement is produced, and the aligners are manufactured. Each 10-14 days during your treatment, you will wear a new aligner so that your teeth gradually move into their new position.

Are clear aligners right for me?

Many patients choose clear aligners as they are barely visible, offering a more discreet way to straighten teeth. Designed for convenience, they can also be removed for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. While there is a brief period of getting used to them, you should find you can speak normally with aligners in place.

While they are ideal for simpler teeth straightening needs, for more complex dental issues, for example, those involving bite alignment, aligners may not be the most suitable treatment for you, or a combination of treatments might be necessary. For example, we can tailor your treatment, combining aligners with fixed braces on specific arches to meet your unique requirements, ensuring a sophisticated and highly customised treatment to suit your particular needs.
